When I want a low maintenance makeup look or I’m half asleep and I need something easy (which is mostly the case if I’m honest) then I always find myself looking for nude or natural colour options. I find nude colours are really forgiving for both eyes and lips, and drug store makeup is just getting better and better for a trusty neutral look.
The first item that I really rate in terms of achieving an easy glow on those grey mornings is the Soap and Glory Glow All Out powder. I tend to use this as a setting powder once I have done my foundation as it gives the skin a lovely subtle glow as well as helping your makeup stay in place. I brush it all over to really brighten the face and it works a treat on sleepy looking eyes.
The next thing, which completely surprised me in its quality, is the Collection Eyes Uncovered Palette in Nude Bronze. Is was one of those things that I just casually swatched on the way out of boots and I couldn’t believe how soft and buttery these eyeshadows are (I actually had to do a double take it was that good!). For less than three quid, it’s an absolute steal and from a light shimmery beige to an intense brown you have all the colours you need to create a pretty daytime look, all the way to a sultry smoky eye.
Last but not least, this has become an absolute staple in my lipstick collection and is always in my handbag ready for an easy nude lip win! It’s the Rimmel Only 1 Lipstick in ‘Naughty Nude‘ and the consistency of this is just beautiful. It’s soft, creamy, really pigmented and lasts so long on the lips for such a soft formula. I have raved about it plenty here but what I love the most is that after you have applied it, it dries down slightly and has the staying power of some matte lipsticks I own but without any of the dryness. This colour seems to make my lips look a bit fuller too – thumbs up for juicy lips!
So that’s my 3 staple nude makeup items in a nutshell. Do you have any favourite nude makeup bits that you always reach for?
