My First Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick

Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick Review

Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick ReviewI’ve lusted over a fancy lipstick for so long now that when I went on a recent trip to London I couldn’t resist popping into Selfridges and treating myself to something a little more ‘high end’ – fancy.

The counter I gravitated too was the Charlotte Tilbury one with it’s beautiful set up and shiny lights! I have heard so much about her products from her magic foundation to her lip liners but what I really had my beady eye on were the Matte Revolution lipsticks. Obviously, I was in there swatching everything in sight and I was looking for a colour that was an everyday shade such as a soft nude or light pink, but no. In the end I want for a bright colour – there was definitely a heart over head moment going on.

The colour I went for was Lost Cherry, a beautiful vibrant red with a hint of pink. It has a really classy vibe to it and I can see myself wearing it in the day with just a slick of mascara or with a full on smokey eye on a night out.

The texture of these are just gorgeous. They glide on the lips like velvet and the formula is soft, lightweight and moisturising but has no shine at all which I love.  It has glowing pigments within it to make your lips look nice full which is a brucey bonus in my mind! The shape of the lipstick bullet itself is unusual too, it quite angular so it’s a little more difficult to apply as it doesn’t fit to the natural shape of your lips as easily as the traditional shape but it’s not really a big deal at all.

The packaging is so classic but new at the same time. It reminds me of lipsticks my mum used to own in the 80’s with the ridged outer, but the rose gold colour gives it a modern twist. It’s defiantly something that feels very special when I reach for it in my bag.

The staying power isn’t as good as something like the Bourjois Velvet Rouge liquid lipsticks but that’s because they feel much more moisturising and don’t give you that crocodile lips kind of feeling – which is always a bonus.

I can 100% confirm that I will be getting another shade of these and I would really like to get my hands on some other bits from the line too. Any recommendations?

  1. I love that shade! I have a few CT lipsticks and I adore the texture, and the way they fade as well (I hate when red lippies stain your lips but these fade really gracefully)
