The Perfect Autumn Lip

DSCF2153 (2)DSCF2158 (2)We are well and truly into autumn now so the deep berry tones are out in full force. I absolutely love this season because you can put a bit more slap on knowing that by the end of the day you’re not going to end up looking like a sweaty mess.

Reds, oranges and purples are right up my street and I’ve been rocking a berry lip most days at work recently and I’m not even sorry. Granted, it’s a bit of a faff to keep these kinds of colours looking tip top so normally there’s plenty of reapplication throughout the day (or every time I eat – which is a lot).

I recently got my hands on a Kiko Velvet Mat-Satin lipstick in Dark Berry. This is a beautiful warm berry colour which is not too harsh against my skin tone and the texture of this is just to die for. It’s a Matte finish but at the same time it’s creamy and luxurious. My lips really thank me for treating them to the good stuff!

Whether you want to keep the eyes simple with just lashings of mascara or go all out with a smokey eye, this lip colour is a winner; the staying power is pretty good too (even with all my scoffing!)

Kiko is a brand that I think is so underrated. I discovered it on a trip to Venice a couple of years ago and I’ve been hooked ever since. Their stores keep popping up all over the place and there’s one coming near me very soon which I am way to excited about – I’m sure a lot of money will be spent in there (my bank balance is going to hate me).

So there you have it, my version of the perfect autumn lip. I am big into berry tones and everything in that family at the minute and I’m looking for a deep but warm toned purple lip colour. Always up for a recommendation – any excuse for another trip to the make-up counters ay?
