A L’Oreal Face Moment

Follow my blog with BloglovinDSCF2135I don’t know whether it’s because I have been stressed at work or because the weather has changed but my skin is just so spotty right now! I’ve always been pretty lucky and managed to skip the whole spotty teenager phase but now it’s back to bite me.

I decided to do something about it and go and find some slap to help cover it up. I have never in my life bought a foundation – shock horror – it’s just never appealed to me and I must have been subconsciously put off by the many orange faces and bad tide marks I have seen on others in the past but, in my time of need, I decided to take a punt.

I headed to the L’Oreal section because I already have the Nude Magique BB cream which makes my face look fresh and natural but doesn’t have the level of coverage I need right now. I heard a lot about the True Match foundation so I decided to give it a whirl. I should have asked someone to help me match a shade because I was a foundation virgin but, as I was a little tipsy (Prosecco at lunch was to blame), I was feeling confident and picked myself shade 2.R/2.C Vanilla Rose. I have surprisingly picked the right shade (I suspect with a little help from the skin matching formula) and the medium coverage is just what I need right now. It’s dewy and not too made-up looking, which is what I like, but sometimes after a few hours it can leave my skin looking a little greasy so I have to apply a bit of powder to sort it out.

Overall I like the colour and the blendability is great but my teenage skin moment probably calls for a formula that is a little less dewy.

While I was mooching around boots I also picked up the light shade of the L’Oreal Lumi Magique Stylo Touche De Lumiere which is a highlighting pen; very similar to the famous Touche eclat that many people raved about (but less than half the price). I use this under my eyes and any other areas that look a bit dull and just give it a good old pat into the skin.

My skin is slowly but surely getting better but I’m still up for some good foundation recommendations for combination skin. Any recommendations?
